Becoming a witch or wizard in Hogwarts Legacy gives players many fun magical spells to play with, but there are so many that the sequel could add.

SUMMARY
- Hogwarts Legacy 2 should include spells like Langlock, Rictumsempra, and Tarantallegra to add humor and more variety in combat.
- A sequel to Hogwarts Legacy makes sense due to the game's popularity and the opportunity for fresh adventures in a new school year.
- Despite leaks and rumors, Avalanche Software has not officially confirmed the development of Hogwarts Legacy 2 , but fans eagerly await its arrival with hopes of more magical spells and gameplay.
Hogwarts Legacy gives players the chance to become a witch or wizard and utilize powerful magic from the world of Harry Potter, but there are many more spells that were left out of the game that would provide a lot of humor and enjoyment in the sequel. Much like the beloved Riddikulus charm that can protect against Boggarts by transforming the Boggart into a funny form, there are many spells in the wizarding world that would make Hogwarts Legacy 2 have a lot of enjoyable humor to counter the darkness that surrounds the experience. After all, if a character is going to be able to cast magic, they should be able to access the more creative jinxs and spells as well as the serious ones.
The idea of a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy makes sense both from the popularity that the game continues to enjoy and the simple fact that school year cycles provide another opportunity for the player's character to start fresh for a new adventure, much like the Harry Potter novels. As yet, Hogwarts Legacy 2 has not been officially confirmed by Avalanche Software despite numerous leaks and rumors suggesting a sequel is already in the works. If and when the sequel arrives, these are just a few of the established spells from that universe that need to be included in the next wizarding game.
Langlock
Giving new meaning to the term "tongue-tied," Langlock is a jinx used to glue a victim's tongue to the roof of their mouth. Canonically, it would not make sense for this spell to exist during the time period of Hogwarts Legacy as it was actually invented by Severus Snape in the 1970s, yet there could be some adaptation of it that may have existed prior which Snape simply used as a foundation for Langlock. Alas, though it would be entertaining to cast, it would likely not have existed in the 1890s without some form of time travel.
Rictumsempra, The Tickling Charm
A Hogwarts Legacy character wearing an eccentric outfit, with goggles that have mismatched lenses, a diamond-patterned teal top hat, a brown, ornately patterned scarf, a royal blue vest, and a bight yellow Hufflepuff school robe.
Much like the spell Tasha's Hideous Laughter from the world of D&D, Rictumsempra is a charm that makes its victim unable to stop laughing. Known as the Tickling Charm, it can be very useful to disable an opponent temporarily and is a cheerful way of defending oneself. There is a similar spell, the Tickling Hex, which also exists but is a dark magic spell that makes ghostly purple hands appear and begin to tickle the target in a much more offensive manner.
Tarantallegra, The Dancing Feet Spell
Unlike Langlok which was created after the events of Hogwarts Legacy took place, Tarantallegra has a history that goes back to 79 AD. This charm is known as the Dancing Feet Spell as it makes the target's legs begin to have uncontrollable spasms that can look similar to dancing. The charm is even more entertaining in that it can work on inanimate objects as well as living opponents, as long as there are legs. Being able to make any chair or item with legs begin to dance in Hogwarts Legacy 2 would likely add a lot of work for developers, but it would also be very fun.
Piertotum Locomotor
Speaking of making inanimate objects dance, the Piertotum Locomotor incantation can be used to bring objects to life. The witch or wizard who casts the spell can then have control over the newly-animated furniture, statue, or other object of their choosing. This spell can be used to great effect for everything from mundane chores such as a broom sweeping the floor by itself to having a suit of armor rise up to protect the spellcaster, which could become quite helpful in Hogwarts Legacy 2.
Mucus Ad Nauseam, The Curse Of The Bogies
The Curse of the Bogies, with the incantation Mucus ad Nauseam, is a curse in the wizarding world that gives its recipient an extremely runny nose and constant sneezing. If not treated, the victim can collapse, and it is implied that the amount of mucus that is created in the body will also make one nauseous, hence the "ad nauseam" in its title. Though there are several antidotes that can cure the effect, the Curse of the Bogies would certainly be helpful for players to use against practitioners of the Dark Arts in Hogwarts Legacy 2.
Furnunculus, The Pimple Jinx
Though perhaps less useful than some other forms of magic, the Furnunculus curse will cause a victim to suddenly break out in boils or pimples. Known as the Pimple Jinx, its name sounds unpleasant enough, but it can actually be quite painful as well, as anyone who has had a boil would confirm. In Hogwarts Legacy 2 this spell could be used as an attack to do damage and also temporarily stun the victim.
Engorgio, The Growing Charm
The house elf Deek from Hogwarts Legacy standing in a grassy field, with big green eyes and long, downturned, and pointed ears. Engorgio is a charm that could be used in numerous ways in Hogwarts Legacy 2 with capabilities that can be used for either solving puzzles or combat. Also called the Growing Charm, it causes the target to swell and grow at rapid rates. If it is used too much, the target could violently explode, although often it is not pushed to those limits. In a game setting, having to enlarge a spider or object to solve a puzzle could be a very fun game mechanic, and the spell could then double to be used in more violent means during combat.
Bat-Bogey Hex
Hogwarts Legacy's Professor Onai studying a crystal ball with two students watching close behind her. The Bat-Bogey Hex would be interesting to see used in conjunction with Mucus ad Nauseam, as the hex transforms mucus in the nose into bats that then fly out of the nose. If used on an animal it is often a fatal curse, and would likely be fatal when combined with the Curse of the Bogies even for humans. Unfortunately, it is said that this spell was first created during the mid-20th century and therefore likely would not have been known during Hogwarts Legacy's timeframe.
Avis, The Bird-Conjuring Charm
An image of a glowing Merlin Trial in Hogwarts Legacy, with an image of Natsai Onai looking up transposed on the right. The Bird-Conjuring Charm, Avis, does exactly what the name suggests and conjures a flock of birds that emit from the caster's wand tip amid smoke and the sound of a gunshot. In addition to being a creative way to possibly solve some puzzles in Hogwarts Legacy 2, the spell can also be used defensively to block incoming spells as they would hit the birds first. The game LEGO Dimensions had Harry Potter characters, and allowed Hermione Granger to use Avis as one of her attacks as well.
Densaugeo
Hogwarts Legacy castle of Hogwarts in the background with an image of Ranrok the goblin snearing in the front. The hex Densaugeo is used by witches and wizards to cause the target's teeth to elongate rapidly. Perhaps more of a schoolyard prank than an effective combat spell, elongating a victim's teeth to a beaver-like appearance could be entertaining in numerous situations in Hogwarts Legacy 2, including duels or using on other students. Most likely, the hex would be something that most of the evil users of Dark Arts would not be expecting either, and could at least stun them for a moment from surprise.
